Catawiki has started a new way for collectors to experience the holiday season with its Books & Historical Memorabilia Advent Calendar, a 24-day sequence of curated 24-hour auctions.
Running until December 24, a new themed auction opens every evening, each highlighting a different facet of the appropriate category, from pre-1700 books and antique maps to illustrated literature, historical photography, autographs, travel accounts, and socialscience landmarks.
Complementing the daily auctions is an additional auction runnung alongside and featuring four top-tier lots from across all Books & Historical Memorabilia auction types.
“With the Advent Calendar, we wanted to create something that feels festive, meaningful, and truly collector-oriented," said Francesco Magnani, Category Lead for Books & Historical Memorabilia. "It’s a countdown built on stories, craftsmanship, and curiosity, a way to make December not only about gifting, but about rediscovery. If this pilot succeeds, it has the potential to become a tradition our community looks forward to every year.”
